Sports Group
Pearce Hall Teacher Mike Cosby facilitates the Therapeutic Sports Group twice a month at Pearce Hall. This is an opportunity for students to improve their physical health, social skills, and psychological health.

According to the National Council of Youth Sports, a primary goal in youth sports is to encourage active participation by all youth in fun and healthy physical activities. It can help to instill confidence to make new friends in a safe environment and to be a part of a team. There is a powerful, positive connection between youth sports participation, good character development, better health, and academic success. Research shows that young people who participate in athletics get better grades, devote more hours to studying, think more about their future, aspire to attend and graduate from college, and have lower suspension and expulsion rates.
